Dive #110

Dive Notes:

3rd Dive on our 2019 Musandam Liveaboard Dhow Trip.

This was a great spot for Izzy to complete the Navigation Adventure Dive. The visibility wasn’t great, and we had to navigate over a sandy bottom that drops away. With the visibility of about 5m, Izzy did an amazing job following the guide’s direction of swimming East across the dropoff and staying at 12-15m depth for about 20m. She put us right on the sunken reef even though my internal compass said we needed to aim more to our left. She was right!

Interesting Stuff:

Lots of hard and soft coral with tons of triggerfish “sleeping” in the holes with only their tails sticking out. Huge schools of sergeants and bannerfish as well as several boxfish and Clark’s anemonefish (Amphiprion clarkii) among others. All in all a very interesting dive even though it was a bit freaky at times swimming around the sunken reef with very dark water dropping away all around!

Alas, no sharks or whale sharks!
